What is The Rule Tool?

The Rule Tool is an application that allows users to quickly search and view agency and investor rules.

What is an agency rule?

An agency rule is underwriting or program guideline set by the subject agency.

What is an investor rule?

An investor rule is an investor underwriting or policy set by the investor. These rules are usually more restrictive than the agency rules.

How can I change my password?

You can change your password by clicking the “Settings -> My Profile” link, located in the top right corner of The Rule Tool, and entering the new password.

How can I reset my security question?

You can reset your security question by clicking the “Settings -> My Profile” link, located in the top right corner of The Rule Tool, and then select the new security question and enter the answer.

How can I view my order history?

You can view your order history on The Rule Tool by clicking the “Settings -> My Orders” link, located in the top right corner of The Rule Tool.

How can I add/remove investors from my profile?

You can add or remove investors from your profile by clicking the “Select Investor(s)” link, located in the left corner of The Rule Tool search page, and adding or removing investors from the Available and Selected lists of investors.

Can I export the rules to a document?

No. The Rule Tool is a Patent Pending Software Program. Please refer to the License Agreement for a detailed explanation of the terms of use.

Can I print a list of rules?

Yes. You may print rules by utilizing the green print icon next to the "Start A New Search" button at the top right of the rule information screen.

How do I request for a rule to be added?

We welcome all requests for adding rules into the rule repository and aim to ensure they are efficiently evaluated before they are published. Please click the "Contact Us" link, located at the top right corner of this page, and enter the details in the 'Customer Support' section.

What if I disagree with a rule?

We spend much time and effort to provide you valuable information. If the investor has signed an agreement with The Rule Tool, we research the Seller Guide and Bulletins for information. If the investor did not sign the agreement, we provide you with what our team believes is the investor rule. As stated in the user agreement, we provide you information to the best of our knowledge. You should confirm directly with your company policy. We continue to work to ensure the rules you view on The Rule Tool are rigorous, up to date, and relevant for your use. On the off chance that you find a rule that you disagree with, please notify us by email at support@theruletool.com and we will investigate the issue and respond with the resolution.

If I make a payment today, can I start using The Rule Tool immediately?

Yes! Once you subscribe, you will receive an e-mail from us to activate your logon credentials. Then use the link provided in the e-mail to log in for the first time and immediately begin using The Rule Tool.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept payments through PayPal, ensuring that your financial information is protected with industry-leading security and fraud prevention systems. PayPal accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards.

Can I change plans later?

Yes! You can choose one of our discounted plans whenever you want to. Your new plan’s discounted rate will be charged from that point forward based on the plan you selected.

What if I want to cancel my subscription?

In Home page navigate to Settings -> My Order --> My Subscription and click on “click here to cancel subscription” under cancel subscription. Subscription cancellation confirmation message will be displayed and also email will received on successful cancellation.

What if I want to subscribe again after I cancel my existing subscription?

You will still be able to login to Rule Tool and click on “Would you like to subscribe 'The Rule Tool'?” link to select your Subscription plan

What if my payment fails during subscription?

If payment fails, email will be received on failed payment and you can do the payment again after logging in to The Rule Tool
